The Billboard Music Awards were held in Las Vegas on Sunday (May 19) and Taylor Swift won the night's biggest honor - artist of the year. Taking to the stage, the singer thanked her fans for their loyalty. Other highlights of the night included Justin Bieber receiving a mix of cheers and boos as he accepted the award for best male artist and Madonna - decked out in fishnet stockings and garters - was honored with an award as the top touring artist for her 2012 "MDNA Tour." The night wasn't all fun and games, however. R&B singer Miguel attempted a stunt during his performance, jumping over a pit of fans and landing on a woman. The woman was struck by his leg and then hit the stage, but Miguel tweeted later that he met with her backstage and she was doing fine. The Cannes film festival continued its run with Justin Timberlake hitting the red carpet. The singer-turned-actor joined Carey Mulligan and directing duo the Coen brothers for their film, "Inside Llewyn Davis." The film will compete with 19 other international movies for the festival's top prize. The Eurovision Song Contest wrapped up and Denmark's Emmelie de Forest was the winner of the competition. The singer was overwhelmed with her victory, although Denmark had been widely considered the likely winner heading into the event. Azerbaijan took second place, followed by Ukraine. Finally, "Star Trek Into Darkness" took the top spot at the movies over the weekend. The newest installment in the intergalactic franchise, blasted to the top of the North American box office charts with more than 70.6 million dollars in ticket sales. The film pushed "Iron Man 3" into second place - that film took in roughly 32 million dollars.
