ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Leaders at a mosque in the southeast London area where a soldier was butchered by two men have used Friday prayers to condemn the killing and to distance their muslim community from the act which has shocked Britain. Imam Swaleh at the Greenwich Islamic Center, Woolwich mosque told reporters on Friday (May 24) that his mosque and its faithful are repulsed by the attack. "We are condemning this act, to the highest tone that we can say. It should not be associated with Islam whatsoever," he said. One of the attackers was filmed justifying the killing as he stood near the body holding a knife and meat cleaver in bloodied hands. He was named by acquaintances as 28-year-old Londoner Michael Adebolajo, a British-born convert to Islam with Nigerian heritage. Little is known so far about the other man. There are fears locally that the murder could inflame racial and religious tensions. The two suspects are under guard in hospitals after being shot and arrested by police following the murder of 25-year-old Afghan war veteran Lee Rigby on Wednesday in broad daylight. They have not yet been charged.
