SOUNDBITE: Actress, Nicole Kidman, saying (English): "Well, how would you like to go to space with Leonardo DiCaprio?" It's one of the most exclusive events at one of the most exclusive festivals in the world. Little wonder then that amfAR's star-studded charity auction in Cannes on Thursday saw tens of millions raised for research into AIDS. A flight into space with Leonardo DiCaprio was just one of the unique lots on offer, going for 1.5 million dollars. SOUNDBITE: Actress and Amfar Auction Chair, Sharon Stone, saying (English): "Million two here going once. We're selling. Have a good time in space. And I'd like to thank you very much." Chaired by Sharon Stone, the event raised 25 million dollars. Other lots included a private audience with Duran Duran, who gave the winner a taste with their performance of "Hungry Like The Wolf". A fashion show was also held with designs by Alexander McQueen, Burberry and Chanel amongst others on show. Stone did have to make sure she was clear on what was being sold then though. SOUNDBITE: Actress and Amfar Auction Chair, Sharon Stone, saying (English): "One of you lucky people tonight will take home all of these dresses, all of these suits, and not one of these models." Shirley Bassey's performance of "Goldfinger" seemed appropriate on the night. The evening's record sales soared above 2012's sum of 14.2 million dollars.
