Boston marathon: final mile run

May 27 - More than 2, 000 return to the scene of the Boston marathon bombing for a re-run of the final mile of the race. Paul Chapman reports.

More than 2, 000 turned out see the last mile of the Boston marathon finally completed. The race was cut short in April when makeshift bombs went off near the finish line. Three people were killed and more than 260 others wounded. Organisers say running the last mile now is symbolic. (SOUNDBITE) (English) J. ALAIN FERRY, ORGANISER, SAYING: "From physical injury or mental injury from seeing things that they should never have seen, this is a tribute to everybody, it is representative of everyone impacted by this." Survivors of the attack were among the spectators and the runners. (SOUNDBITE) (English) ALLISON BYRNE, SURVIVOR, SAYING: "I have a desire to help out the local businesses, I have a desire to get over my fear of walking down Boylston Street with crowds. I think it is all positive for everybody so I am happy to be part of it." Two brothers, one of whom later died in a shootout with police, are accused of carrying out the attack
