It was a frantic race against time.
Rescuers in eastern China saw their way through a domestic sewage pipe to reach a newborn baby trapped inside.
State broadcaster CCTV said the abandoned child was discovered in a residential building in Jinhua city when worried neighbours reported a baby crying.
Fire crews weren't able to get the child out at the scene.
Instead they rushed the baby boy - still inside the sewage pipe - to a local hospital.
Footage aired by CCTV shows them apparently breaking it away piece by piece.
Miraculously the child was pulled out alive.
He's now in a stable condition in hospital.
CCTV said police were trying to trace the baby's parents.
