Floods wreak havoc in Czech Republic and Austria

June 3 - After days of heavy rainfall and rising waters from the Danube and Vltava rivers parts of Austria and the Czech Republic are deluged. Deborah Lutterbeck reports.

Swollen rivers in Prague as floods hit central Europe. Soldiers are on hand -- helping to protect the city from high waters. But after several days of torrential rainfall, it's impossible to block all the water. . In some places two months worth of rain fell in just a few days. At least six people are feared dead Some take pictures of a floating restaurant. In Austria homes are under water. Roadways are impassable. Volunteers are helping to deliver sandbags to those in need. Two people are feared dead in the country and two are missing Some places resemble Venice. Thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes. The fear is that floods could spread to other European countries. The last time central Europe saw similar floods was in 2002, when 17 people were killed in the Czech Republic.
