ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Floodwaters reached a small town near Vienna on Tuesday as water levels in the Danube exceeded levels last seen over a decade ago and the swollen river followed its course downstream. Several streets in Klosterneuburg were flooded and residents took off their shoes and rolled up their trousers to walk through the ankle-deep water. In streets near the river, firemen put up metal fences trying to prevent the water from spreading further and shut several roads. Torrential rain caused widespread flooding and landslides across Austria, forcing hundreds of people to evacuate their homes. Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany have also been badly affected by Europe's worst floods since 2002. 12 deaths have occurred across the countries since the weekend.
