Mandela responding to treatment, South Africa's Zuma says

June 12 - Former South African President and anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela is ''responding better to treatment,'' says President Jacob Zuma. Deborah Lutterbeck reports.

Winnie Mandela -- the former wife of Nelson Mandela heads into the hospital Wednesday as the anti-apartheid leader and former President spends his fifth day in the hospital. In an address before Parliament President Jacob Zuma had encouraging news. (SOUNDBITE)(English) SOUTH AFRICAN PRESIDENT, JACOB ZUMA, SAYING: "I'm happy to report that Madiba is responding better to treatment from this morning. We are very happy with the progress that he is now making following a difficult few days." Mandela was admitted to the hospital early Saturday with a recurring lung infection.
