(ROUGH CUT -- NO REPORTER NARRATION) Brazilians woke up on Tuesday (June 18) to police patrolling the streets, glass littering the ground and cleaning teams removing graffiti one day after mass protests led to rioting and looting. As many as 200,000 demonstrators marched through the streets of Brazil's biggest cities on Monday (June 17) in a swelling wave of protest tapping into widespread anger at poor public services, police violence and government corruption. As tens of thousands of protesters demonstrated in Rio, clashes erupted as demonstrators threw rocks at police, set fire to parked cars and vandalized the state assembly building. Monday's demonstrations were the latest in a flurry of protests in the past two weeks that have added to growing unease over Brazil's sluggish economy, high inflation and a spurt in violent crime. The marches have been organized mostly through snowballing social media campaigns.
