U.S. Morning Call: Gold, silver plummet post-Fed day

Jun 20 - The Fed's Bernanke hinted at reducing the central bank's money drops later this year, with a possible end in 2014. Gold and silver hitting year lows after the announcement.

It's the day after the storm and although Ben Bernanke didn't pull the -- entirely on bond buying his words are still having a huge impact on markets. Let's -- -- Thursday morning call -- Dow S&P and NASDAQ futures they're all pointing to a lower start after being battered yesterday. To give you a feel for how bad it was nearly 70% of NASDAQ listed shares ended lower. Bernanke hinted at reducing the Fed's money drops later this year with a possible ended 2014. Although it's expected this to a certain extent this is the first time that that has provided an explicit timeline. Even worse than stocks is the slide in silver prices today down 6% trading under twenty dollars. So -- has lost nearly 13 of its value this year. Spot gold also falling down 4% to 1293. Counts that's the lowest in three years. As metals and stocks torpedoed treasury yields rising to record highs the ten year trading close to 2.4 percent this morning.
