An empty airline seat - not normally a cause for concern but this one had reportedly been reserved by former US spy agency contractor and high profile fugitive Edward Snowden. Dozens of media had gathered at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport on Monday hoping to catch a glimpse of the 29-year-old as he boarded a flight to Cuba. Snowden was allowed to leave Hong Kong on Sunday despite Washington's requests to arrest him on espionage charges after he exposed U.S. government surveillance tactics. His decision to fly to Russia, which has also ignored requests to detain him, was a further embarrassment for Washington. Speaking at a news conference in New Delhi, US Secretary of State John Kerry, repeated that all countries had been notified about Snowden's status. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE, JOHN KERRY, SAYING: "He is an indicted fellow, he is an indicted individual, indicted with three felony accounts and that he is wanted by the legal process of the United States and those countries are now on notice about that. And historically, we have always known that there are some countries that play outside of that process and we don't know specifically where he may head or what his intended destination may be." It is not known where Snowden may be heading next though Ecuador said it was considering his request for asylum.
