Stella McCartney is one happy messenger. The British fashion maker announced the winner of the "Designer for Tomorrow" contest at Berlin Fashion Week. Already in its sixth year the competition aims to spot up and coming design talent, and this year the jury's choice fell on 30-year-old Ioana from Romania. She will now receive a sponsorship and some start up help for her future ventures. SOUNDBITE: Stella McCartney, British fashion designer, saying (English): "Ioana had a very mature hand and point of view and at the same time she had a great silhouette and she was saying something different in fashion and I think that's important, that's what you want to see from the young designers today." This year's finalists, all of them women by the way, presented their collections to a full house on Wednesday (July 3). The girls said they welcomed McCartney's input on their creations when they first met the designer back in May. SOUNDBITE: Designer Jamie Wei Huang, saying (English): "It was really good working with Stella and she gave some really good suggestions." SOUNDBITE: Designer Annalena Skoerl Maul, saying (German): "It was great, speaking with Stella. She gave me so much inspiration and so many hints. I made an entirely new collection for the show and it helped me so much incorporating her advice." McCartney, who is best known for her sharp tailoring with a feminine edge, takes over from fellow designer Marc Jacobs, who hosted the contest for the previous five years.
