Practicing to break a world record. These mariachi musicians gathered at the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California to set a new world record for the largest number of mariachis playing in a single location. So with that goal in mind, 566 musicians played a five-minute serenade during the half-time of the Mexico versus Panama soccermatch. Officials from Guinness World Records were on site to verify that the number was large enough to break the previous record set three years ago, when 555 mariachis were in tune at a conference in Tucson, Arizona.
