Osama bin Laden lived in plain sight for almost a decade thanks to the incompetence of Pakistan's intelligence and security services, according to an official report into his killing.
The report, leaked to Al Jazeera offers details about bin Ladens life on the run. He was reportedly once pulled over for speeding. He wore a cowboy hat to avoid being spotted from above.
Not everyone believes the findings.
(SOUNDBITE) (Urdu) BUSINESSMAN, ZAIN AHMED, SAYING:
"How can I believe that he had lived here for nine years? The media is telling us this. Who is running the media, you know, the Jewish lobby?"
The report which has not yet been officially published - include evidence of incompetence at almost every level of Pakistan's security apparatus.
The findings are also fiercely critical of the quote ... "illegal manner" in which the United States conducted the raid.
(SOUNDBITE) (Urdu) RESIDENT, SHABBIR SOOMRO, SAYING:
"The U.S carried out the operation to convert an ally into an enemy. We still don't have a confirmation that Osama bin Laden was actually caught in Pakistan."
After a decade-long hunt, the CIA finally tracked down the al Qaeda leader to a compound within sight of an elite Pakistani military academy, close to the capital Islamabad.
