Children wish Nelson Mandela a happy birthday with a song at this school in Pretoria, South Africa.
The country's first post-apartheid president is celebrating his 95th birthday in hospital.
Mandela's health has been the subject of frenzied media speculation, with reports suggesting the president might be close to death.
But his daughter Zindzi says the former president's health is steadily improving.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) NELSON MANDELA'S DAUGHTER, ZINDZI MANDELA, SAYING:
"There were a couple of times where I like, was very insecure and uncertain and very afraid, you know of what might happen. But over the past three weeks or so I have just seen a huge turnaround. Of course I am not a medical doctor, they are the ones who will decide, determine when he is going home but I am confident it will be sometime soon."
Many in South Africa celebrated Mandela Day with 67 minutes of public service to honor the 67 years Mandela served humanity by fighting against apartheid and then consolidating racial harmony during his time in office.
