Victory for Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's ruling bloc as it wins a decisive victory in an upper house election Sunday. The vote will cement his grip on power and setting the stage for Japan's first stable government since 2006. (SOUNDBITE) (Japanese) JAPAN PRIME MINISTER SHINZO ABE, SAYING: "We received overwhelming support from the people for our policies of improving the economy and solid and stable politics. We are going to continue going forward with our brand of politics." Voters gave the Prime Minister's Liberal Democratic Party -- a stronger mandate for his "Abenomics" recipe to revive Japan's economy (SOUNDBITE)(Japanese) JAPAN PRIME MINISTER SHINZO ABE, SAYING: "The economy is improving because of our brand of forward-thinking politics. Employment and wages will rise as the situation improves, Consumption will then rise and companies can invest the money they make. We want to create this positive cycle as soon as possible so that people can feel the effects." The win is a personal redemption for Abe, who led his LDP to a humiliating defeat in a 2007 upper house poll.
