Cheers celebrating the birth of Prince William and Kate's first child, a baby boy who is third-in-line to the British throne. William's colleagues in the Royal Air Force, where he is known as Flight Lieutenant Wales, led the greetings and well wishes with a message of their own. (SOUNDBITE) (English) SEARCH AND RESCUE COMMANDER GROUP CAPTAIN SARA MACKMIN, SAYING: "On behalf of everyone on the Search and Rescue Force I am delighted to offer our warmest congratulations to Flight Lieutenant Wales and Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Cambridge, on the safe delivery of your son and to wish all three of you every health and happiness for the future." (SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED RAF AIR-SEA RESCUE STAFF MEMBER, SAYING: "Hi William, Duchess congratulations on the birth of your baby boy. William I hope you enjoy your paternity leave and we will see you on shift soon." The messages come a day after Kate delivered a healthy baby boy weighing just over 8 pounds at a London hospital, sparking royal baby fever around the world.
