This was the message the U.S. had for its citizens in Yemen --- leave immediately. Westerners could be seen heading for departure gates at the airport in Sanaa where security had been noticeably stepped up in recent days. The Pentagon also confirmed that it has airlifted personnel out of the country on Tuesday. The security alert was triggered by electronic messages between al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri and the head of the AQAP, al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. Based in Yemen, the region's poorest country, the group was behind the failed underwear bomber attack on a Detroit bound flight. While U.S. embassies were closed throughout the region, sources say Yemen is the primary concern.
