At least 28 people have now been confirmed dead after a cargo ship collided with a ferry carrying more than 850 passengers off the coast of the Philippines on Friday. Search and rescue operations are ongoing for the some 213 people still missing. One passenger said he was watching a live band at the time of the collision. He ran to get his wife and 2 year old daughter who were asleep. We had no idea what would happen, his wife said. Thank god we managed to survive. Officials said the ferry was approaching the port on the resort island of Cebu when it collided with the departing cargo ship. The captains of both vessels are alive but have not yet been questioned about the incident.
