Two separate ... but equally dramatic high-rise rescues captured by cameras in China. Seven stories up...a woman threatens to commit suicide on Monday (August 19), balancing on the narrow sill of a high rise building in southwest China's Tongren City. Firefighters inflate an air cushion below as police above try to talk her off the ledge. Just as she appears ready to leap, a firefighter tethered to the building jumps out a window and grabs onto her body. She struggles but he holds on as they fall onto an air conditioner before being dragged into the apartment. The woman - bleeding from a cut on her wrist - is sent to the hospital for treatment. Another high-rise rescue in south China's city of Yulin on Monday. A boy hangs from the eighth floor of a building, his head and limbs stuck between the bars of a window cage. Police hold onto the boy's legs until firefighters arrive with a safety belt to keep him from falling. It takes 20 minutes to cut through the bars of the cage and pull him inside to safety. Officials say the eight-year-old boy had climbed into the cage out of curiosity while his parents were at work.
