STORY: Deposed Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak could be freed this week. That's according to his lawyer Fareed el-Deeb. He says a court will review his petition to release his client, now that the last remaining corruption charge against Mubarak has been dropped. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) LAWYER FOR EX-PRESIDENT HOSNI MUBARAK, FAREED DEEB SAYING: "The appeals court in northern Cairo, which specializes in appeals, will move to the prison where he is held and I will give my defense and if, God willing, there is a decision to release him, then there will be no reason for him to be held in temporary detention.'' Mubarak has been jailed on corruption charges following a 2011 revolution that removed him from power. He was also sentenced to life in prison last year for failing to stop the killing of protesters during the revolt against him. He still faces a retrial in that case but this wouldn't require him to stay in jail. Wednesday's court hearing will be at the same Cairo prison where the former President is being held.
