EDITORS PLEASE NOTE: EDIT CONTAINS MATERIAL THAT WAS ORIGINALLY 4:3 Former President Pervez Musharraf arrives at a court in Pakistan amid tight security. Inside he's charged with the murder of another former President, Benazir Bhutto. Musharraf's lawyers dismissed the three charges of murder, conspiracy to murder and facilitation of murder. (SOUNDBITE) (Urdu/English) LAWYER FROM MUSHARRAF'S DEFENCE TEAM, AFSHAN ADIL, SAYING: "The President denied all charges. He is not involved in the case at all, totally. In fact I believe that of all the offences that he has been charged with, not a single case is applicable on the President. I don't know how these proceedings are being carried out against him." Afterwards he left the court, returning to his compound where he is being held under house arrest until the case adjourns on 27th August. The indictment is unprecedented in a country that has been ruled by the army for more than half of its existence....no military chief has ever been indicted for a crime. The former military ruler returned to Pakistan earlier this year in the hope that he could lead his party into elections. But instead he was disqualified and found himself under house arrest fighting a range of charges from his time in power. Bhutto was killed at an election rally in 2007. Here she can be seen minutes before she was assasinated. Musharraf's government blamed her death on the Taliban but a UN report said it could have been prevented and that the government had failed to provide enough protection.
