Aug. 19 - The first family welcomed a new puppy, a Portuguese Water Dog who is just over a year old and named Sunny, to the White House. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).

STORY: President Barack Obama and the First Family of the United States welcomed a new family member to the White House Monday. (August 19) The Obamas welcomed a new puppy they have named Sunny due the puppy's energy and affectionate nature, according to the White House. Sunny was born in Michigan in June 2012 and like the Obama's other dog Bo, she is a Portuguese Water Dog, which is favorable to the Obamas because they allergies in the family. The First Family have donated money to the Washington Humane Society in honor of Sunny.
