ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) The Nigerian navy arrested four pirates on Tuesday (August 20) in a rare capture for local authorities. The men were paraded in front of media ensuring publicity for the naval coup. The four are believed by officials to be responsible for hijacking a fuel barge and its crew on August 14 on the eastern edge of the Nigerian coast, near the port city of Calabar. There has been a sharp rise in pirate attacks this year which jeopardise the shipping of commodities from the West African region while insurance costs soar.
