South Korean activists on Wednesday sent anti-Pyongyang leaflets to North Korea amid easing tensions between the North and the South.
A small group of activists gathered near the border city in Yeoncheon, and launched 12 huge balloons containing 20,000 leaflets and basic necessities such as socks, soap and toothpaste.
The event was held amid easing tensions between North and South Korea, technically still at war after their 1950-53 civil conflict ended in a truce, not a treaty.
North and South Korea agreed last week to restart their troubled joint industrial park after a series of talks on the fate of the last symbol of economic co-operation, raising hopes of possible improvement in political ties.
