Pollsters say Tony Abbott's Liberal National Coalition looks likely to win in Australia's election this weekend. New polls ahead of the vote predict the ruling Labor Party could face defeat. The forecasts are consistent with earlier newspaper reports that showed Prime Minister Kevin Rudd trailing behind Abbott. Pollsters contend the economy plays a big role in the campaign. (SOUNDBITE) (English) JWS RESEARCH DIRECTOR, JOHN SCALES SAYING: "If there is any one major dominant issue it is about economic credibility and that really just pulled the rug under from Labor on that." Sportsbet, an online betting website, is predicting Abbott's coalition will take 91 seats, with Labor candidates winning only 56. Much of the anger against Labor has roots in the six-year fight between party leaders Rudd and Julia Gillard, the country's first female prime minister. (SOUNDBITE)(English) BUSINESSMAN, CHRIS SIMONOVIC SAYING: "The reason I'm going to vote for Abbott is because I believe there is a change that is needed and that he hopefully will bring better sustainable government that what Rudd and Gillard have been able to do." Gillard was defeated in a snap leadership vote this year and did not attend Rudd's campaign launch.
