$6 billion dollars is today's daily digit - the amount Delta Airlines is paying for 40 new Airbus jets.
The order suggests Delta is softening its reliance on Boeing for the first time in two decades.
It's also thought to have bagged a bargain
Airbus denied the price was especially low but it is trying shift older models to make way for new fuel-efficient engines.
Atlanta-based Delta operates both Boeing and Airbus planes.
But it's the first major deal with Airbus under the Delta brand since 2008.
It's buying 30 A321s for domestic use and 10 A330s for international routes
It's expected to take delivery of the new planes between 2015 and 2017.
Both firms shares rose after the deal was announced
