Two people are dead and 17 others injured after an explosion near a primary school in southwest China's Guangxi province on Monday (September 9), state media reported.
Witnesses said a man driving a three-wheeled motorcycle past the school gate when his vehicle caught fire and exploded, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
A woman was killed on the spot, and the injured, including 10 students, were sent to a local hospital for treatment. The motorcycle driver was also killed.
The explosion occurred just after 7:00 local time when the students were arriving for classes.
The blast wave damaged motorcycles and vehicles parked nearby, and shattered glass windows of buildings surrounding the school.
The cause of the explosion is being investigated.
