J.K. Rowling has signed a deal with Warner Bros. for a new film franchise based in the world of "Harry Potter." Rowling has agreed to write the screenplay for "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," a film based on the adventures of a fictional author of a Hogwarts textbook. The story is a prequel of sorts, taking place 70 years before the Potter tale gets under way. Shirley MacLaine has been selected as a recipient of the 2013 Kennedy Center Honors, set to be handed out in December. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing arts announced their selections on Thursday (September 12). In addition to MacLaine, the center will also recognize Billy Joel, Carlos Santana, Herbie Hancock, and opera singer Martina Arroyo. Finally, Lady Gaga has come to the defense of Miley Cyrus - who some have criticized as becoming too sexually explicit with her performances. Gaga appeared on talk show, "Watch What Happens Live," and said of Cyrus, "if you have a problem with it, just change the channel."
