This video posted on the internet purports to show Monday's shooting down of a Syrian helicopter by Turkish forces. The footage was posted on a social media website and can't be independently verified by Reuters. Turkey says its warplanes shot down a Syrian Mi-17 helicopter after repeated warnings when the aircraft crossed into its airspace. Syria's army admitted the helicopter had strayed into Turkish airspace briefly but said that was accidental. It said the aircraft was on its way back again when it was shot down. Syria's government accused Turkey of acting hastily and trying to increase tensions between them. Since Syria brought down a Turkish jet last year Turkey's warned any Syrian aircraft approaching the border would be viewed as a threat and considered a military target.
