Whether the hostage crisis at a mall in Kenya is over remains to be seen on Tuesday morning. Gunfire was heard coming from the mall despite an earlier announcement from the Interior Ministry that security forces had the mall within their control. Al Shabaab sources told Reuters that the militants were holding out inside the mall and and the hostages were still alive. Sixty-two people are confirmed dead after a group of militants stormed the high end mall in Nairobi on Saturday afternoon. The fate of those still missing is unknown. Another bit of confusing information -- the identity of the militants. During an interview with PBS Newshour, the Kenyan Foreign Minister said some of the militants were American, and one was a Briton. (SOUNDBITE) (English) KENYAN FOREIGN MINISTER AMINA MOHAMED SAYING: "Yes, from the information that we have, 2 or 3 Americans and I think so far I have heard of one Brit... a woman, woman, and I think she has done this many times before." That information was again disputed by al Shabaab members in Somalia who told Reuters that anyone who says Americans and British were involved, quote, doesn't konw what is going on. A news conference is expected later on Tuesday.
