T-Mobile U.S. is yanking out BlackBerry phones from its stores saying it's no longer efficient to keep them in retail locations. But it will still ship BlackBerrys to customers who want them. From the get-go, it wasn't exactly a match made in heaven. BlackBerry smartphones are mostly purchased by businesses, which don't make buying decisions in retail locations. And T-Mobile, as the nation's fourth largest carrier, is focused more on the consumer market. In that segment, BlackBerry has heavily bled market share to Apple's iPhone and devices using Google's Android software. The company has been fighting to stay alive and has been offered a buyout. It now says its second-quarter results coming out on Friday will feature slumping sales, a big operating loss, and hefty job cuts.
