Only a little ways off the Italian shore, THIS became the watery grave for more than a hundred African migrants. Newly released video shows the submerged wreck of the migrant boat that sank off the Italian coast on Thursday, leaving more than 300 people drowned or feared drowned. More than a hundred bodies have been recovered from the wreck. Authorities believe more bodies will be found on Friday. A hundred and fifty survivors were pulled from the water, many rescued by local fisherman. (SOUNDBITE) (Italian) FISHERMAN VITO FIORINO WHO SAYS HE RESCUED 47 MIGRANTS, SAYING: "At dawn, it seemed that I could hear screams, voices, but I didn't really think anything of it, we thought it was seagulls. But at a certain point, my friend said we need to go out to sea and we started sailing out and the scene was dramatic - all these people with their arms raised, crying for help. It was just terrible." It's one of the worst immigration disasters ever in Europe. Headlines in Italy call it a national "shame". On Friday, flags flew at half staff as the country marked a day of mourning. (SOUNDBITE) (Italian) ROME RESIDENT, ENRICO CAROVINI, SAYING: "All of us as citizens should feel this as though it a loss of our loved ones, our relatives." Rescuers continue their search off the island of Lampedusa. The disaster is fueling a political row in Italy over its immigration laws.
