ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Britain's Prince Harry met the public at his own request after he reviewed international warships and their crews in Australia's Sydney on Saturday. He shook hands, made small-talk, posed for photos and smiled. Prince Harry was greeted by hundreds of admirers at Sydney Harbor. Prior to his walkabout Prince Harry had helped the Australian Governor General Quentin Bryce and Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott celebrate 100 years since the Royal Australian Navy fleet first entered Sydney Harbor. More than 20 warships from 17 countries marked 100 years since the Royal Australian Navy first entered the harbor. Ships from China, United States, United Kingdom, France, India and Australia are taking part in the International Fleet Review. On October 4, 1913, the first vessels of the new Australian navy were led into Sydney Harbor for the first time. More than one million visitors are expected in Sydney to watch and take part in the IFR. The IFR visit marks Prince Harry's first official trip to Australia representing the royal family, local media said. After Prince Harry met the public he made his way to Kirribilli House, the official residence of the Australian Prime Minister, where he was greeted by Abbott, his wife and daughters. Later on Saturday, Prince Harry is expected to watch the fireworks and lighting display from his suite at a hotel in Sydney's CBD. He will leave for Perth in Western Australia early on Sunday.
