Oregon bartender receives $17,500 tip

Oct. 6 - Bartender Aurora Kephart receives a tip of unusually generous proportions in the form of a winning lotto ticket worth 17,500 dollars. Gavino Garay reports.

Oregon resident Aurora Kephart knows she's a good bartender, but even she was surprised by the windfall she netted one seemingly quiet night. She received a tip to worth about $17,500. But it wasn't cash, or a check... It was a Keno winning ticket. Restaurant Owner George Conway: SOUNDBITE:Restaurant Owner George Conway Saying: "One of our very best employees and she's been here almost four years..." Kephart's first instinct was to return it but the customer insisted she keep it. SOUNDBITE: Bartender Aurora Kephart Saying: "I automatically handed him back the ticket and I was like 'I'm sorry, I can't take it.' And he had me sign it and say 'you're the only one who can cash it now.'" The young bartender isn't quitting her day job, but she has a few small plans for what to do with hefty tip -- she's been shopping for furniture, and now has the money to do just that, while saving the rest.
