Nearly 40 years on, Carrie, the bullied schoolgirl who unleashes supernatural powers, is back for an update with Chloe Grace Moretz in the lead and Julianne Moore as her neurotic mother. The pair launched the movie in Los Angeles, where Moretz explained there's a super-powered unstable schoolgirl in all of us. (SOUNDBITE) Actress Chloe Moretz Grace, (English) saying: "Everyone has an inner Carrie and I think to become her it isn't that hard because as a normal human you kind of push that aside... you push aside all the things that have happened to you that are bad, manipulative and horrific and make you feel insecure. And with a character like Carrie for four months I had to bring all those insecurities out and put them into the movie and just let them breathe on screen." And Carrie's insecurites all seem to stem from her crazy mother. (SOUNDBITE) Actress Julianne Moore, (English) saying: "She doesn't know she's crazy, I think that's one of the things you have to realize is that when people are I think so. She's pretty far out there but she's not aware of that... everything to her, that's just her reality." The original Carrie shocked audiences with the pig blood prank and the prom scene massacre. (SOUNDBITE) Actress Chloe Moretz Grace, (English) saying: "Pig blood was actually really fun; it was kind of soapy and ridiculous. I don't know I think it was like when you're up on those really high rides and you're about to drop and you know it's gonna' happen and you don't really know when it's gonna happen but you know it's about to hit, and then it does!" "Carrie" hits cinemas from October 18th.
