Oct. 9 - ''He told the police officer he thought he was playing Grand Theft Auto,'' says the father of a stowaway child, who flew from Minneapolis to Las Vegas with no ticket. Gavino Garay reports.

It's a bizarre story with a cloudy explanation -- A 9-year-old with no boarding pass snuck passed security and managed to fly from Minneapolis to Las Vegas. Wearing a tightly-tied black hoodie to conceal his identity, his father told reporters his account of what happened, sounding at times as though he was crying. SOUNDBITE UNIDENTIFIED FATHER OF STOWAWAY CHILD SAYING: "He took the trash out, and just left, okay. It started raining Wednesday night, okay. I'm a parent, I'm not perfect, we assumed he was at a friend's house. We had no idea where he was." The father said his son, who had never flown in his life, thought he was playing in a videogame. SOUNDBITE UNIDENTIFIED FATHER OF STOWAWAY CHILD SAYING: "He told the police officer he thought he was playing Grand Theft Auto." The father cannot comprehend how a child boarded a Delta flight with no ticket. SOUNDBITE UNIDENTIFIED FATHER OF STOWAWAY CHILD SAYING: "How would you let a 9-year-old child go through security check without stopping him and questioning him. How can that be?" A representative from community group MAD DADS says the family has sought help from social services to help deal with their son's behavioral issues.
