The army has fought hard to retain control of complex and is now trying to recapture the town. On the streets of suburban Damascus the sounds of despair as Syrian forces recapture rebel-held areas. Rights groups say at least 70 people were killed in the operation. More than 100,000 have died in the conflict which began more than two years ago with no end game in sight.
