The typhoon with winds packing 120 kph (75mph) and gusts up to 150 kph (93mph), made landfall in the northeastern coastline of Aurora Province early morning but weakened as it moved west to the provinces of Nueva Ecija and Zambales. Sea and air travel have also been suspended since Friday (October 11), with fishermen urged to bring their boats in due to strong winds and giant waves. Emergency workers were sent on standby for relief operations, officials said. About 20 typhoons hit the Philippines each year, on average.
