This Ohio graphic designer has art in his blood, but discovered his passion for pumpkins just in the past year. Deane Arnold works on these personalities in the comfort of his garage. And when he lifts the door, the neighborhood kids get a sneak peak. (SOUNDBITE) (English) ARTIST DEANE ARNOLD, SAYING: "And the kids all go, yeah!" One piece takes him five to eight hours. For details in the face, he heads to the kitchen and uses a tool similar to a potato peeler. Deane says there is no specific person who inspires his pumpkin faces. (SOUNDBITE) (English) DEANE'S WIFE DEBORAH WRIGHT, SAYING: "But he has had me make expressions in a camera as a reference for him." In preparation for Halloween pumpkin sales, which start at $150, Deane keeps himself quite busy.
