Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner and Jared Leto hit the red carpet of their latest film "Dallas Buyers Club" in Beverly Hills. McConaughey lost 40 pounds or 18 kilograms for his role as Ron Woodroof, a homophobic, hard-partying cowboy who gets diagnosed with HIV. Set in the mid 1980's, Woodroof decides to find a cure for the then unknown disease, and learns about unapproved treatments in Mexico that he smuggles into the U.S. And the fact that it's based on a true story was inspiring, says McConaughey. SOUNDBITE: Matthew McConaughey, "Dallas Buyers Club" Star, saying (English) "This was a real guy who went through these real events. He gave me plenty, an endless amount to grab a hold of and feel like I needed to become a master of." Starring alongside McConaughey is Leto who plays a transgender fellow AIDS patient Rayon. For his role Leto also underwent a brutal regimen. SOUNDBITE: Jared Leto, "Dallas Buyers Club" Co-Star, saying (English) "It was a role of a lifetime, I really fell in love with Rayon. I lost 30, 40 pounds, put on the heels, waxed my body, changed my voice." Dallas Buyers Club will hit theaters on November 1.
