California's "Magic Restroom Café" gives a whole new meaning to crappy food.
The Taiwanese eatery is being billed as America's first toilet-themed restaurant.
Manager Gin Han says they have several similar cafes already operating in Asia.
SOUNDBITE: Gin Han, "Magic Restroom Café" manager, saying (Mandarin):
"About three of four years ago, we researched a lot of similar restaurants in other countries and we wanted to bring in new concepts to the United States. We haven't seen anything like this before, so after gathering inspiration from other Asian countries, we came up with our own product and we're very excited that it's been so popular so far."
And diners don't seem to be repulsed by having their food served in a miniature toilet bowl.
SOUNDBITE: Albert Siu saying (English):
"It's very unique. And some people even put their purses inside the toilets. So, it's hilarious."
SOUNDBITE: Fifi Untung, saying (English):
"It's really great and interesting for me because we wanted something new to try."
Though it's a novelty now, only time will tell if the "Magic Restroom Café" will remain occupied or go down the toilet.
