Oct. 21 - Notorious Australian criminal Mark 'Chopper' Read says he killed four people in a last interview days before his death. Paul Chapman reports

Mark 'Chopper' Read's confession came during his last TV interview. (SOUNDBITE)(English) CONVICTED CRIMINAL MARK 'CHOPPER' READ SAYING: "That's all I'm saying to you, that's it. Four is all your getting and that four, that's it. Four, that's it. That's it. I haven't killed any more than that." Read's spent more than 20 years in jail but has never been convicted of murder. He says in one case he convinced a jury he'd acted in self-defence. (SOUNDBITE)(English) CONVICTED CRIMINAL MARK 'CHOPPER' READ SAYING: "I said he'd grabbed the gun out of the front of my pants and I grabbed the shotgun and click click click here and I'd gone bang through the head. And I thought to myself 'if anyone believes this story they've got rocks in their head'. Next thing I knew the jury had come back and said 'not guilty' and I thought...I didn't go 'cheers, cheers'. I (was) just dumbfounded." Read became a household name in Australia after a cult hit movie about his life in 2000. He also wrote books about his criminal past. Police say they're investigating his new revelations.
