ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Gisele Bundchen's return to Sao Paulo Fashion Week spurred a thunderous ovation Thursday (October 31). Bundchen had taken a one-year hiatus from Latin America's largest fashion event now in its 36th edition and 15th year. The Brazilian supermodel's rock star status matched perfectly with the precocious sophistication reverberating from Colcci's Winter 2014 collection. According to Forbes magazine, Bundchen is the world's top-earning female model. Colcci upped the ante enlisting yet another Brazilian supermodel in Alessandra Ambrosio. Bundchen's allure was on everyone's mind after the Colcci show. "I thought it was all very beautiful and functional. The coolest was how Gisele nailed it. You can't say enough about her charisma. The vibe she sent through the audience was incredible," said fashion blogger Debora Zandona. "Gisele's entrance was too much, her smile, the magnetism beyond the beauty, the body… but the clothes were really cool too," said shop owner Maria Julia. Earlier, it was Lino Villaventura which first bewitched the crowd with a haunted awakening of paint-splattered heads before showing off a wispy female collection highlighted by several long, color-saturated gowns. Labels Gloria Coelho, Ronaldo Fraga, and Patricia Motta also had their chance Thursday to showcase their latest winter collections at Sao Paulo's Villa-Lobos exhibition hall. According to organizers, Sao Paulo Fashion Week is a meeting point for over 30,000 companies which employ over 2 million Brazilians and generate in upwards of $50 billion in export revenues. Sao Paulo Fashion Week concludes on Friday (November 1).
