Firefighters rescue a New York University student Sunday night who got trapped between two buildings in Manhattan.
19-year-old Asher Vongtau was wheeled away on a stretcher after spending nearly two days stuck in a tight space between a dorm building and parking garage.
Firefighters broke down a wall to rescue him.
SOUNDBITE: UNIDENTIFIED NEW YORK CITY FIREFIGHTER, SAYING:
"Before we moved the victim we had to start IV lines on the victim and hook the victim up to a heart monitor to make sure the victim didn't go into cardiac arrest."
Friends say they last saw Vongtau Saturday morning after a false fire alarm went off in the dorm.
SOUNDBITE: FRIEND COLIN CHENEL, SAYING:
"I saw him frantically running up the stairs while people were exiting the building because the fire alarm had been pulled."
Friends reported Vongtau missing Saturday night.
Campus police found his cellphone on the roof, that's when they discovered him stuck between the two buildings.
