A rousing procession for some serious stubble.
It's the World Beard Championship in Germany and no bristles are too bizarre for this crowd.
Well, maybe for some …
Around 200 competitors from 20 countries gathered in praise of facial hair.
SOUNDBITE: Truman Castor, competitor from the U.K., saying (English):
"They're a bit out there, a bit wacky, a bit weird and wonderful. You can create anything you want from it. It's expression in its purest form."
SOUNDBITE: Alessandro, competitor from Italy, saying (English):
"My father has a beard and with the beard, I could never see his lips because he had this beard so it's something, I always wanted something in my face, like a beard."
The main competition categories were mustaches, chin beards and whiskers, full beards and "trendy" beards.
And win or lose, for these lucky contestants, fuzz was favorite.
