Lady Gaga's newest album ARTPOP is finally here and the pop diva celebrated its launch with a fittingly outlandish party in New York that featured an art exhibit and a flying dress.
Gaga is donning the world's first flying dress "Volantis" here, as part of the party that also showcased works by celebrated artist Jeff Koons.
So what is ARTPOP? The singer explained that it came to her when she was drinking a bottle of water.
SOUNDBITE: Lady Gaga, Singer, saying (English)
"So I was like drinking Perrier one day and I looked down and I saw, Oh my goodness, Andy Warhol was on the Perrier bottle. And it was sort of like a flash. I realized that already in culture there was an inferno turning round and round. 'Pop art' became 'Artpop' and now the soup can art is on the soup can."
Koons providing some of the ART of ARTPOP and collaborated with Gaga to create a massive sculpture that also graces the cover of the new album.
ARTPOP's lead single, "Applause", was released in August and made it to number four on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.
