Welcome to 4 World Trade Center, the first office tower to open on Ground Zero since the 9/11 attacks. The building at 72 stories high is completely surrounded in glass and has a serene setting, an intentional design choice made by the developer. SOUNDBITE: DEVELOPER LARRY SILVERSTEIN, SAYING: "Because if you look closely you won't be able to help observe the fact that we're directly across the street from the 9/11 memorial museum and everything that entails." 4 World Trade Center will open on Wednesday, reviving the Lower Manhattan site. Although the building is empty right now, two tenants have signed leases. The Port Authority and the city of New York will be occupying 50 percent of the office space. SOUNDBITE: DEVELOPER LARRY SILVERSTEIN, SAYING: "Of course you gotta wait now for the other buildings to be finished but when they get done everything will be interconnected down here." The building is a shorter version of One World Trade Center, which is slated to be complete early next year.
