U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry spoke to CBS' "Face The Nation" following a historic deal clinched in Geneva over Iran's nuclear ambitions. The breakthrough agreement slows Tehran's ability to build a nuclear weapon, and also provides some economic relief to a nation crippled by economic sanctions. (SOUNDBITE) U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE JOHN KERRY SAYING: "They will destroy, correct, as of now. They will have to destroy the higher enriched uranium they have, which is critical to being able to build a bomb." Republican Congressman Kevin McCarthy of California was less optimistic about the deal. (SOUNDBITE) CALIFORNIA REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN KEVIN MCCARTHY SAYING: "One thing we have to do, remember who we're dealing with here, we're dealing with Iran. They are one of the top supporters of terrorism around the world, this is providing them resources and money and we should not take this lightly." Democratic Representative Steny Hoyer of Maryland. (SOUNDBITE) MARYLAND DEMOCRATIC CONGRESSMAN STENY HOYER SAYING: "I think this is a marginal improvement, it did freeze some of their activity in place, and it continues the major sanctions in place..." President Obama said if Iran doesn't stick to the terms of the deal the US could resume the sanctions that have hampered Iran's economic growth for decades.
