Americans tired of eating and shopping made box office history during the Thanksgiving holiday. Hollywood took in $294 million in record ticket sales during the long holiday weekend, topping last year's take. "Hunger Games: Catching Fire" set a record of its own thanks to wide appeal to key groups like men, women, and the younger set... And without much competition for the kids, Disney's "Frozen" saw record attendance for the period; both beating out previous record holder Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Comic book hero "Thor: The Dark World" performed well, four weeks after its debut , suggesting theater goers used the holidays to catch up on movies they haven't seen. And that boosted numbers for romantic comedy "The Best Man Holiday", in its third week. But the holidays, so far belong to Catching Fire, raking in nearly $300 million in just 10 days.
